jane is so pretty

a new bar is opening at wilcox and yucca in hollywood. it will be called madame royale. it has artfully selected vintage mirrors and light fixtures and is very beautiful and clean and will be a charming place to visit. dan finkle has sent me dumbfoundingly kind words. andy clockwise blogs. brian mcguire is so sure.
i asked him what was happening, because i really don't know.
not at 4 am at madame royale after a beautiful show with brett's sax hurting my mind with its angst. dark folk. love the genewilder mcguire song stylings.
not to give any credence to the psyche dealers, but i think music balances out my symptoms.
lately, depths of silence creep into my toes, and words seem to be a far inferior medium . . . or a distant cousin of music.
simone, bella makes video art.
reminded how much i loved shostakovich, ravel, prokofiev, rachmaninoff, philip glass.
and how funny rachmaninoff's concerto 2 jumped into my mind in concurrence with reading a beautiful email the other day.
as though the email held the metadata for some lost files, of music that had meaning, a long time ago, when i was sentimental, and aware, and sixteen.
and so then words might carry us inbetween the music that really matters.
tripp played some blues.
my mind is tired of study.
royksopp's new album is brilliant.
friendly fires delight.
re:IPRED and IPREDator and france 3-strikes
umm-the essence of the filesharing wars that are going on in the courts and legislatures of europe and beyond, might be summed up as this:
some people want to make inter-networking computers illegal.
make internet illegal.
some do not.
p2p is merely a very efficient way of networking.
new minds like to share and think.
old minds like to charge, and restrict, and punish.
we should fight to keep the internet alive, so we can communicate with each other.
music is message.
i feel very close to my heroes in sweden who make beautiful music and beautiful technology.
i will never forget them, even if the mpaa and riaa turn off the internet.
it reminds me of when the nazis burned books.
information should not be a crime
art
music
should not be a crime.
war and torture and genocide should be crimes.
but they are A_OKAY TM.
with world powers like the USA.
and i stopped believing in tyrannical liars when i was young, and there's no reason for my mind to start acting like a robot sheep bc the USA or MPAA or RIAA or IFPI says so $$$$ cha-ching to them.
their generation is old and dying, and if they don't kill us all off, we the young, the peer2peer collaborators, remixers, anti-capitalists will prevail.
in the meantime
