bardot, luminaries, and jump jump dance dance
jump jump dance dance has a happy sound with chris carter wearing his crafty stravinsky t-shirt . . . dance rock! stop smoking everyone and dance!
i love jump jump dance dance's remixes of la roux and masterkraft. happy to see them at bardot. very positive happy contemporary dance rock. thanks to nick maybury for getting me out of my june gloom smoggy lethargy. bardot is lovely. the former spider club at the avolon: it is cozy and stylish, and has a very high density of lovely women, who look all too perfect for words. this is where ezra reich vocalized and helped host fun nights fall 2009 with lots of celebrities and amazing vocalists like "LP" whose classical opera training shows . . . her rendition of pat benetar's "invincible" was in my head for at least six weeks. "what are we running from?" her friend evan told me all about her life as a songwriter and vocalist. she is the most adorable person . . .
oh my gosh listen to this
taylor was so kind to always let me in under the aegis of maybury, despite my distinct lack of high heels . . .
julian shaw this lovely guy sang lovely things http://www.myspace.com/juliandrinkme
and scott fivelson talks literature . . . he is a rare anachronism, the brilliant literary writer of another era, who told me about his novel

a word or two with him reminds me of old hollywood, dorothy parker and f. scott fitzgerald, and truly bright scintillating minds, feeding off eachother, and he understands things about the writing compulsions, only a writer would understand . . .
tuxes is a spoof on a dynasty era texan aristocracy if i recall . . .
