london air pollution
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/jun/25/london-air-pollution-europe
this is what i am feeling.
looking up heavy metal toxicity
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_(chemistry)
regarding diesel soot particulate which lodges in the lungs
re: a feeling of being a reservoir of pollutants
i cant find the kind of international database i am dreaming of, in which one could stack up poluution levels in differrent categories for different cities internationally.
that would be nice.
london air gives me a tickle in my throat, and as with LA air, there is a psychotropic, asphyxiating effect, measured in endocrine response of cortisol stress hormone, panic, anxiety relating to loss of optimal level or oxygen.
a feeling of absorbing heavy metals into the blood stream
and then out of nowhere appears the lexus SUV, or the elderly couple in their landrover!
notable as well: lack of convenient spaces to recycle
http://www.london.gov.uk/sites/default/files/MAQSPublicConsultationStrategy.pdf
yahoo! found a helpful chart which shows that stacking up london to los angeles---london has more sulfur dioxide micrograms per cubic meter
re: coal
and in this category NYC exceeds LA pollution, which is what i felt---this particularly disgusting metallic lung-freezing kind of smog
http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/table3_13.pdf
stockholm air, new zealand, norway, even ireland look quite a bit better
iceland
the blustery islandic nature of it here, seems to keep the pollution moving, if not cyclonic, its disgusting
this might help:
