And One - Fehlschlag - #6 - Aggressor

Failure

Carefree, like we choose here,
on dark days
Media pressure and greed
are no longer dominant in any way

We demand too much
They devour the half-dollar¹
Leaders without style
smell their grave-machinery deal

Failure² on command
Girls get out of Israel
cowardly and mentally-challenged
A man-controlled game

The First Lady cries in the mirror
She sees what he does not revere
His bombed-to-death love
never retreats from Gaza.
He for whom the bell tolls³
will never understand the shot
and why the life he earned
has to be cleared away by a bombed-to-death love

Bullet without target
soaked with grief and loneliness
hits, as he commands,
right in the middle of the west's sense of security

Failure on command
Girls get out of Israel
cowardly and mentally-challenged
A man-controlled game

The First Lady cries in the mirror
She sees what he does not revere
His bombed-to-death love
never retreats from Gaza.
He for whom the bell tolls
will never understand the shot
and why the life he earned
has to be cleared away by a bombed-to-death love

For whom the bell tolls

The First Lady cries in the mirror
She sees what he does not revere
His bombed-to-death love
never retreats from Gaza.
He for whom the bell tolls³
will never understand the shot
and why the life he earned
has to be cleared away by a bombed-to-death love

Author's comments:
¹ Literally, thaler, which is a vintage German coin, though some people still use the word to talk about their currency.
² "Fehlschlag" connotes a failure where everything has gone wrong, where something didn't align properly and it resulted in everything turning to ruin.
³Literally, "for whom the hour tolls." He for whom the bell tolls refers to someone who has died. It's possible that And One is referring to Hemmingway's novel about an American soldier fighting in the Spanish Civil War. However, the question, "For whom does the bell toll?" is more generally utilized to express that every death that occurs on earth affects every other human being, as all humans are connected.
