I walked around and took a lot of shots of burning buildings and
looting. I walked from Wilshire to Sunset Blvd. along Vermont
1. I took picture of a Big Five being looted and after five minutes they carried out rifles. I was safely across the street. After ten minutes, organizers in a truck for riot threw everyone out and burned the place. I offered it to big five but they didn’t want it.
2. At a shoe store, cops and manager across the street while people loot. Manager forgot to empty till and gets cops to force people out so he can get cash. Everyone is coming out and there is a Spanish news crew and I tell a lady in Spanish ‘ take advantage’. I meant it in a Warhol way take advantage of the five minutes of TV fame . She took it badly and got upset with me.
A few minutes later, Korean snipers from rooftop started shooting and I hid behind a car with a girl I knew from coffee shop.
3. The picture you see with crowd is from third and Vermont. You know how there are two Supermarkets across from each other? Picture is from north side market and riot cops had blocked the entrance. At one point, people huddled like a football team and made a plan to run across the street and loot south side store. No cops at that one.
4. Coworker from Tiketron call center job sees me walking around and tells me to go home because he is black. And, doesn’t seem to understand it is non-political at this point and just Latinos looting. So no real danger.
