Hallows

Hollows played a fantasic set. Beautiful rhapsodic melodies unfurled in a
long set at Hotel Café, Thursday February 26th.
The beautiful lead singer David Brook was cattily attired in a small retro red cardigan that made him look like a schoolboy after a growth spurt. Really charming, I’m not kidding.
The audience was apt to dance. A lyrical song about the crows in Vincent Van Gogh’s last painting sent the audience a chuckle.
Someone said “I’m sure he likes your song” and “don’t tell him he’s dead” because David really sets a dreamy tone.
Kyan mans the drums and the stunning cellist Elvy captivated with her style and application. Willis took the guitar parts pretty far out with lots of country twang, and dissonant rock distortion to boot. Bass player Johnathon. . .
Check out Hallows next time you get a chance. David says he loves Hotel Café, the nice vibe, a great place to play.
The sound was on. It was beautiful.
The crowd was as charming as the band, nice people everywhere.
We should thank the Hotel for brightening up many a lackluster evening and for showcasing such exciting new music.
The earlier act Justin Young featured tall musicians. I caught a couple songs and they were rocking great. Talented young, sought-after bassist Josh Nyback noted that tallness was a pre-requisite for admission to the band.
I bumped into Oskar from Snake of Eden and he took the trouble to tell me he liked the Snake of Eden interview on the music page, so check it out!
He failed to affirm my alliance with fellow Swedes the Pirate Bay, as they suffer through court proceedings. As an artist, the peer to peer bit torrent sharing issue must be a conundrum . . . . but I hope for a future beyond all the current systems--- some kind of music utopia where money and poverty and the struggles artists go through are mitigated by a new social vision. So I’ll say, viva Pirate Bay! Viva Snake of Eden! Viva Hallows! Viva Hotel Café!
