dissolver is mighty fine. i met james ambrose. i want dissolver to play lots of shows and meet my cool lefthouse/beachwood friends. the weather was spooky and cold. hollywood was in a traffic jam over the depeche mode concert.
space 1520 was so clean and calm. james ambrose laughed about playing the same time as depeche. i caught a few songs before heading over. depeche fans are extra cute. boys with eye makeup lots of green hair . . .purple hair . . . blue hair . . .i even saw the redheaded depeche mode guy looking swank outside the pantages theater. some kind of raucous party hosted by W hotel was cranking the music super loud. and bardot's funny crowd was roaring.
saw two cool things at cranes, a bluesy smoking hot noel who coverred some depeche and talking heads, and ska-reggaeish lucid dream---cool acts with super-on girl lead singers. dance worthy happiness.
met ragsy who told me of a clockwise show at hotel cafe may 22.
clockwise returns . . . ahhh!!
gene wilder cd release party cranes may 13.
burgundy room was whatever, as was beauty bar, though even more so.
once i got home to check twitter i realized i wanted to head straight back out to the milk studios on cahuenga for the chloe party, but i think it might be too late, and hey, i should be at home studying like i promised myself.
i really already had too much fun, but it seems to have been a super secret party and my favorite guitarist might be there . . . i don't deserve so much fun in one night, do i?
hallows play soon april 29 at cranes. they're glorious.
and it looks like 1520 has a movie series with lots of fun arty movie screenings, basquiat, marc jacobs, jackson pollock . . . it sounds fun and free and stuff like that . . .
missed the angus and julia stone act that hit amoeba last night. don't know why i should like them except that they're australian, and gee, i just love australia.
david green of the filthy souls plays hotel cafe april 27th.
hope i can focus and get there.
i missed two busses last night out of sheer laziness/hunger as i pigged out on hummus at ultra-plastic-tesco's fresh and easy.
now netflixing the third generation by volker schlondorff, so ultra yummy! baader meinhoff!
hey and tonight was a glimpse of hollywood future perfect!
with promises of more free outdoor concerts
via their glamorous corporate underwriters.
hey!
a good party!
it was so nice to see dj bip jeffington and andi--beautiful people with such lovely taste. bip helped me catch up with a ot of important music . . . so gorgeous and of course they were there to see depeche, andi's hair so freshly blonde and spottable from far away . . . i need to go see bip spin soon. its been bugging me that its been so long . . . and he's so beautiful . . . he would love simon bookish. they kind of look alike.
