chloe from kitten smiled at me as i recorded her song at the hollywood and highland train station.
last time i asked her what she's called and she said shayshaysays. but now it looks like there is something called kitten with a great song called kitten with a whip.
i'm glad someone was singing in the subway. she announced it on kitten's myspace like a real gig. which it was. and a paying one at that.
NYC: Tom Sachs' Bronze Collection - Hello Kitty by wallyg.
Tom Sachs created his first monumental bronze works, featuring the familiar icons Hello Kitty, My Melody and Miffy, for the Lever House installation of his Bronze Collection, on display in the Noguchi Gardens of Lever House in 2008. Working from original toys, Sachs and his assistants constructed enlarged versions of the popular children's characters using sheets of lightweight foamcore and glue guns, which are then cast in bronze, and ironically painted white to resemble the white foamcore surface.

The installation featured a 21-foot high, 8-ton windup sculpture of Hello Kitty, a 10-foot high sculpture of My Melody, a 9-foot high Crying Miffy Fountain, and a 7-foot high Crying Hello Kitty Fountain.

Hello Kitty, full name Kitty White, was created in 1974 by the Sanrio Company in Tokyo.
