free humanity

i am totally obsessed with free humanity los angeles street art. by alec, free humanity. he shows a lot of respect and courage. after doing my anthropology project at los angeles city college on islam and islamophobia, i feel that the poster series takes on a really interesting ambiguity that only art can assay. if humans are fully liberated, veil or no veil, the human mind is what is at stake. the arbitrariness of hating one culture is the true oppression. so as women will be considered human beings in the future and as we will free humanity, from everything, hunger, thirst, TV, war, torture, rape, and all civic and social oppressions---what i love about he poster series is that it takes on a different kind of iconography. we are so inured to the exposed female form. in LA especially the naked female is so ubiquitous in advertising as to be invisible and so inflatedly devalued. with the veiled series, and especially the veiled kitty, i think alec explores all kinds of veils, metaphorical veils.
she regains her mystique behind the tomato spray paint pop art. a new goddess of the apocalypse has shown herself, more beautiful than the mona lisa, protesting, exposure, repressions . . .and the artist guilty of art crimes too, must take the veil, the smog bandana, which protects him from artcrime prosecution, when los angeles crucifies the poor every day on the street, and pays taxes to the civilian killing war machine, free humanity is the dangerously transcendent message . . .free us!
how are we all silenced?
how are we hidden? how can we find total human liberation? total freedom? and free humanity? from bagram air base from guantanamo, from war, from sexism, from hatreds, racisms, homophobia?
how can we free humanity from everything?we need a human liberation front.earth liberation and animal liberation.human liberation.

an end to war, and the BP oil crisis.

this kind of radical awesomeness is what i love about LA.
that joe blow in his lexus gets a little art lesson on the corner of 3rd and fairfax or where ever. and then we begin to wonder, in what ways are we free, and in what ways are we in chains? and how could we free humanity? help others? from this radical poverty all over the streets of los angeles.
