Indigo Girls - Closer To Fine
i was in love my new best friend artist kate broadbent, sister of andrea broadbent who died in a car accident in 1994.
i was poly as could be and gay too. crushing on steffie giles who married into the cain-sloan fortune, god love her.
what was girls school for if not lesbians?
andrea was gorgeous and bright and sat by me in chemistry where one day she explained to me who kate moss was as i read War and Peace furiously.
andrea once said i was "the raddest baddest actress" possibly based on my belle of amherst solo acting piece about Emily Dickinson.
Little did she know i did not care for acting, but just wanted public speaking experience due to loving law and politics.
ruefully, i cursed the sexism which relegated the women of st cecilia to acting mushy drama, whilst the boys of montgomery bell had a strong debate program.
i wanted model United Nations and Debate and Mock Trial and if anything less, perhaps, journalism and broadcasting experience.
i was stuck with cheesy musicals and reading the female depressive poets in poetry competitions. at least the exceptional work of Bart Whiteman who was brought in to the new theatre at MBA held substance above sentiment.
he chose beckett's waiting for godot as his first production.
i fell so then in love with beckett, at age fifteen, watching bill siesser and paul thompson.
now if anyone has footage of that it should be put online.
i am sorry bart is dead, condolences to his family.
and also sorry andrea died. extremely. sorry i cannot contact kate.
many thanks to the siesser family for their generous placing of my job with estelle condra and the hospitality they continually showed me during my love affair with perhaps the best boy ever besides erik ellis---his one and only doppleganger bill siesser who finally fell out of love with me.
i loved the cultural infliuences of Dr. Siesser's geology and south african art collection, the siessers' taste for british comedy, and the sonorous speaking voices of younger bill and his fantastic tall south african mum.
