this is so utterly tragic

ben pickering has been on the edge since i met him

he refuses medical care

is frequently suicidal and psychotic

i have filled out a Disability Accommodation Report on him for PPD and was on phone with Gilbertson the night b4

these officers claimed to have no knowledge of his disability for 10;30 am Monday April 27 arrest.

responding supervisor clark took baldwin for his word that head injury insignificant

i argued that Ben Pickering's self inflicted head injury on copcar door warrants immediate medical care MRI works

i begged this also to supervisor Clark attending at scene.

Bernard and Baldwin were relatively polite---but actually unprepared for Pickering's violence

i dont like the way they rip him into the car.

he is blind in one eye, brain damaged from the 1994 TBI, recently mugged with a crowbar to the head April 14, 2015.

he did never make a police report on the mugging.

he just spiraled into more out of control hitch-hiking and explosions at me.

i resent having to use a restraining order to get PPB to take his mental health and welfare seriously.

my mother pulled strings for his health eval. at MCDC she used to work there.

the city has put my family in immense danger by allowing Pickering's explosive disorder to terrorize us untreated.

my calls to Multnomah Crisis and all the dispatch records would reflect a long history of persistent attempts to get him help ---bad service---and doing nothing.

i have been in so many ER's with Ben but when he is most out of control he bolts---he does not want to let doctors see his explosive mania---so he runs, hitchhikes, etc.

Pickering's family are attacking me blaming his current crisis on me.

i can only hope MCDC medical and guards do not kill him.

if there is any way to advocate for his advanced care---i care more than anybody i know---despite the appearances that i am his domestic violence victim.

i believe his mental fragility from his blindness, TBI, recent mugging and additional head injury, the head injury in 2013 inflicted by PPB Klundt, and the head injury in Pacific County 2013 by Corey Johnson (who Pacific County sheriff's let walk a free man after attempted homicide on ben)


are pushing him closer to the edge than ever before.

in the face of his family's death threats and attacks on me, i want to ask IPR to look at how this arrest was conducted.

yes Ben Pickering threatened to carjack me the night before, said he would commit suicde-by-cop using his wallet or the carjacking.

he told me to commit suicide with him by jumping in the river.

i tried to get him to good samaritan ER by midnight.

he attacked a glass window of a gallery.

i called non-emergency dispatch.  gilbertson began to look for him. conveyed full Disability report.

next morning my mother makes the 911.

she is trying to rope me into her method of getting ben in custody for his mental health.

i feel suspicious and under her gun so to speak---as she is less tolerant of Ben's antics.

yet i am getting the blame for his current state.

i am dependent on my mother, and feel that i have to stand down.

i also want ben to get the help he needs and stop hitchhiking, getting assaulted, and acting out in public.

it was so painful to witness this Monday.

i tried to help him calm down given the terrible circumstances.

the officers were so distracted by mother and i that they gave ben the opportunity to get out and bash his own head.  they then denied his needing an MRI despite me being the most familiar with his medical history, history of brain injury and recent mugging concussion.

i hope he makes it through this---

and i hope his family's harassment cease.

tried to report the harassing email from a friend of his sister today to Officer Kizzer but he didnt think stalking emails are a crime----even though my rst. orders prohibits threats and electronic harass. fm his family.

spoke to rick at MCDC and Anne Eng spoke to Barb Topor and it sounds like he will be getting some help.  thanks for everything you are doing to help him get medical care.  i appreciate it so much!
