Dr. Duane Vanderslice, MD
Dr. Duane Vanderslice, MD is an obstetrics & gynecology specialist in Astoria, OR. He graduated from U Zambia Sch Med and specializes in obstetrics & gynecology.
My Tip: If this guy is still practicing, don't go to him.
In 2016 April, i made a report of an improper pelvic exam by Dr. Vanderslice.
I was dismayed to not have a female provider, but in the spirit of non-sexism agreed to see this male doctor.
At the end of my 2015 exam he did a sudden plunge of his fingers into me with no warning, no explanation, and i found it shocking and strange and uncomfortable.
All the lady doctors i've had in the past verbally walk you through each step.
I spoke with the nurse who was present during this uncomfortable event, at my next appointment.
She didnt have a satisfactory answer for his method.
The hospital wrote me in 2016, that he no longer worked with them.
In Fall 2017 i wrote an email report to the Oregon Medical board, with the Kafoury firm copied in, and a nice reporter from Daily Astorian.
I do wonder if there are other patients with similar uncomfortable experiences.
When i got home from the April 2016 report to the hospital administration, i discovered the death by suicide of Michelle Mundt in Multnomah county.
So i quickly moved into grief.
Was his plunged fingers with no verbal warning a best practice?
A sexual assault?
A sexual assault?
A crime?
Questionable?
At the very least, he could be faulted for poor communication skills.
a word to the wise
and power to the people
for trying to fight every battle
i was pre-occupied
i begged homicide detective Richard Austria to consider reopening Michelle Mundt's death investigation as a potential homicide
due to her ex-husband's repeated strangulation history
