peace and love for america flies free--ben pickering

the last song ben pickering was working on that i know of . . .

actually

his last painting i knew of was a portrait of the eagle

which was all basically a tribute to slain officer jason goodding of seaside

the portrait of the eagle, ben's vietnam war administrator vet landlord, tom, allowed him to paint on the wall in a huge mural.

and then the song came.

about the eagle flying so high.

they were both so shaken and bereft at the death of the officer.

ben pickering insisted this song be titled "peace and love for america flies free"

in a certain way, i know this song is a tribute to goodding, as the arose from the eagle portrait mural, that arose from the death.

____

it's too bad ben pickering had to go down, and fell to such a state, that he would crush me almost to death.

it is a wonder of policing that this crisis, or others, did not yet lead to any fatality.
